That adventure, the geologist left as inheritance to humanity one of the most luxurious descriptions of the territory, even, the flora and fauna that detailed can see until today.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #636363;\">His stories reads the diversity and quantity of marine animals that saw in the current Tantauco Park, such as seals: \"there was not a plain site, on the rocks or at the beach, that was not materially covered with them\". He explains that the birds were everywhere in Chilo\u00e9. He also had contact with the Chonos, native people, who inhabited insular patagonia, among the archipelagos of Chilo\u00e9 to the peninsula of Taitao and Gulf of Penas, site that received the name of Chonos archipelago. While the Islands were covered by dense forests, Chonos were developed such as canoe and marine hunter-gatherers, between large and labyrinthine archipelagos. ASI\u0301 the only way to move in the landscape was sailing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #636363;\">In the 1970s, the territory of the current Tantauco Park is threatened by a logging project that was stopped thanks to the support of the national and international community. Today this place is protected for present and future generations thanks to the year 2005, the Foundation for the future began to manage the 118.000 hectares of this pristine place and Virgin to found the Tantauco Park, a project of private conservation, by love of nature, maintains and cares for the area for the education and enjoyment of the regional, national and international community.<\/span><\/p>\n<table id=\"qtranxs-enabled-languages\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #636363;\">INICIO DEL PARQUE Y DESARROLLO DE INFRAESTRUCTURA<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Parque Tantauco nace como un proyecto de conservaci\u00f3n privada, en el a\u00f1o 2005, con la misi\u00f3n de cuidar y abrir a la comunidad un extenso territorio de bosque nativo, y siempre verde, turberas, lagos y humedales, ubicado en la comuna de Quell\u00f3n, en el sur de la isla de Chilo\u00e9, para las generaciones actuales y futuras.<\/p>\n<p>En septiembre del mismo a\u00f1o, comienzan las primeras obras de infraestructura en Caleta In\u00edo. En febrero de 2006, se abre la oficina de Parque Tantauco en Quell\u00f3n, centro administrativo y de informaciones para visitantes del Parque.<\/p>\n<p>Durante estos a\u00f1os se implementaron lugares para acoger a visitantes, investigadores y turistas. En este per\u00edodo fueron abiertos y construidos los senderos y zonas de acceso a Caleta In\u00edo, lagos Yaldad y Chaiguata, y las primeras construcciones de campings (fog\u00f3n, torre mirador y ba\u00f1os) en Chaiguata e In\u00edo.<\/p>\n<p>En el a\u00f1o 2006 comienzan los programas de pr\u00e1cticas de investigaci\u00f3n en el Parque. \u00c9stos apoyan con recursos a los estudiantes que postulan para llevar a cabo sus tesis y pr\u00e1cticas en el Parque. Las investigaciones realizadas sirven de apoyo para el modelo de conservaci\u00f3n del Parque.<\/p>\n<p>Durante el verano del 2006 y 2007 se recibieron los primeros visitantes, quienes se aventuraron por mar hasta Caleta In\u00edo o por tierra hasta el lago Chaiguata.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e1s adelante, en 2008 se inici\u00f3 el proyecto de \u201cRestauraci\u00f3n de Ecosistemas\u201d con la implementaci\u00f3n de los viveros de In\u00edo y Chaiguata. Adem\u00e1s, la zona norte se reforest\u00f3 con 80.000 \u00e1rboles nativos.<\/p>\n<p>El a\u00f1o 2009 Fundaci\u00f3n Futuro inicia el proyecto de Talleres de Educaci\u00f3n Ambiental (PEAT), compuestos por un ciclo educativo para liceos y escuelas de la Provincia. Durante el primer a\u00f1o, m\u00e1s de 20 escuelas visitaron el Parque Tantauco y asistieron a los talleres. Entre el 2009 y el 2015, m\u00e1s de 110 colegios (4.700 ni\u00f1os) realizaron el programa de los talleres culturales.<\/p>\n<p>En 2022, se crea la <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n Parque Tantauco<\/strong> con la intenci\u00f3n de potenciar esta iniciativa filantr\u00f3pica y que ampare estos y otros proyectos, tales como \u201cTraves\u00eda al Parque Tantauco\u201d, \u201cTaller Docente al Parque Tantauco\u201d, \u201cDescubro mi Quell\u00f3n\u201d y \u201cTaller ciudadano al Parque Tantauco\u201d, realizados en alianza con Fundaci\u00f3n Futuro.&nbsp;Todos ellos con la finalidad de poner a disposici\u00f3n de la comunidad de Chilo\u00e9 este proyecto de conservaci\u00f3n y cuidado del entorno cultural y ambiental donde est\u00e1 inserto.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; On November 10, 1834 the English naturalist, Charles Darwin, sailed on board the Beagle at Valparaiso southbound in order to inspect the island of Chilo\u00e9 and the fragmented lands that make up this area.
