11 years of Tantauco Park

On January 21 and 22, 2017, the Tantauco Park celebrated its 11 years of existence, opening its doors free of charge for visitors and carrying out special activities.

During that weekend, more than 200 people entered the Park for the day or to stay in campsites and domes, and were able to discover the wonders that “the wild side of Chiloé” hides.

“For us it is very important that all the local community and tourists who visit Chiloé can come to know this great project and also enjoy all the special activities that we had prepared for them. It was a great day in the middle of nature”, says Alan Bannister, manager of Parque Tantauco.

One of the activities we did in the northern area of Lake Chaiguata was to paint a mural with children and adults of animals that live in the Park and other sectors nearby. “The activity was a success. The tourists enjoyed this special manual labor and the mural will remain in Chaiguata all summer so that the rest of the tourists of the summer can appreciate it “, assures Carolina Sepúlveda, Coordinator of diffusion.

To finish the day, more than 70 visitors could enjoy the excellent music of the group Trifulca.

The celebration of “Tantauco Day” is celebrated every summer, the third Saturday of the month of January.
